Just in case you never saw my reply to your comment re police boxes, there are no more blue boxes anywhere in London as far as I know, the small building is that is shown to tourists as the smallest Police Station in the world is still in the corner of the square, but it houses the controls for the fountains. Nothing stays the same anymore ! ! Bahh Humbug ! Thanks for all your support and comments as well.

Nice to see you back in the action again Dave, hope you are fully recovered and look forward to more of your excellent street work.

Much appreciation, Dave, for your recent visit & comments on the 'GE & Tahitian' pics. Glad you're back...I missed your keen analysis & observations. Your kind words are highly encouraging..many thanks !

Welcome back, hope you're feeling fit! I like your comment on the 'Rave" board, and I'm doing pretty much what you are. So far, it's working great for me....
 Michael del Pilar said:April 6th, 2012 (7:47pm) PDT
Many thanks for your visit and comments on those 'abstract' shots. Your suggestion on lowering the horizon on that white sky was right on the money. I should have cropped it by at least 50% which would have greatly improved that pic. I've learned so much from you, Dave. You're one of my main mentors.
 John Kortland said:April 5th, 2012 (5:41am) PDT
Thanks for the comments and visits, the composition thing was drummed into me when I was in a Photographic Society, the more "senior" members who held sway were real traditionalists, everything had to be on an intersecting third, all black and whites must be like soot and whitwash and composition was everything. I guess it all rubbed off and stuck. Appreciate your time and visits.
 Michael del Pilar said:April 4th, 2012 (12:14am) PDT
Thanks, Dave, for your comment on the 'library' shot. It's like a cathedral, majestic & monumental. Appreciate you stopping by.

Hi Dave, we had to give Swanage a miss this time (not enough time) but we visited Corfe and it's castle. First time we've been to this beautiful area of the UK

Your visits & multiple comments are always highly regarded, Dave. Your advice about straightening that 'double arches' photo was right on. I should have leveled it to the horizontal plane rather than the vertical. Your observations & suggestions have made a huge, positive impact on helping me to see things with more clarity. I'm very grateful, indeed !

Again, thank you, for commenting on the sculpture images. Wish you could view them in person up close....pretty incredible !
 Michael del Pilar said:March 24th, 2012 (5:11am) PDT
P.S. I meant to say smaller aperture not longer focal length !
 Michael del Pilar said:March 24th, 2012 (4:37am) PDT
Thanks, Dave, on recent visits & particular the one on the B/W 'building' shot. I purposefully loaded it knowing that it had a focus flaw but I wasn't sure how to improve it. So I was counting on you for some pertinent advice. You came through didn't occur to me to lay the camera on the ground & use a longer focal length even with the same exposure time. This forum is such a good place to learn & you are one of my major teachers..Many thanks !

Thanks for your visits, support and comments, all very much appreciated. Have a great weekend and I hope the photgraphic God's are kind to you with subjects and weather.

Your recent visit is very appreciated, Dave. It's been said that our mistakes/failures are more helpful than our successes. In that regard, your astute observations & comments provide valuable lessons. For instance, your suggestion about one of my 'building' photos to either include or exclude the cars was right on the money. I realize it now. Your future analysis & advice will continue to help me progress & improve in this wonderful art/craft. Many thanks!

Gosh! Some great work here - natural, unaltered images and a flare for capturing everyday life. Very pleasing to view.

Loud and clear, ooops, had'nt thought of that. Great street work, and nice to see b&w making a strong comeback.

Dave, Re the tats in the Two Girlfriends picture I meant I was not sure about the her choice to have them done, not I was'nt sure about them in your picture, they are one of the key elements of the shot for me. Agree with your comment on Sas's picture of the guy on a pedestal, I'm a what you see is what you get man as well, but as she asked I thought I would give it a go, like in the old Photo Society days ! Ahh the fun we had.
 Michael del Pilar said:March 16th, 2012 (7:41am) PDT
Thanks also for your comments on those two 'abstract' pics !

Thank you, Dave, for your insights & observations on my 'Polynesian''re right on all counts. The environment is a large college gym with low lighting, often with a red cast which proves to be challenging to say the least. It's nice to have friends providing constructive feedback...all points well taken.

Morning, thanks for looking at both versions of the Whelk. I like all three but the one processed here was specifically for submission to a micro stock site. I'm rather partial to this one .. And hopefully after I get moved I'll do some more shells. Cheers, Carol

I agree Jubbly that the snaplist is a fantastic innovation, and it's good to see that an assortment of street photographers are slowly gathering together so that no one person dominates the category. There are some super street photographers here, worth looking for and finding them.

Really like your street shot of the couple holding hands. It's the kind of shot that we can make up stories about. Fun. Loks for the comment on the Summer Storm, Dave. Still making myself scarce. Wish I had some answers. Carol

Street photographer, pure and simple. The Naked Ape, as Desmond Morris called the human being, fascinates me in its entirety. This doesn't mean that I would miss photo opportunities of all subjects. I have been involved in photography for over fifty years. Spent a lifetime working in darkrooms with chemical stained fingers. Still learning about digital photography.
