Thank you very much, Ellie, for your comment on the Golden Gate pic...I was trying to reply to your comment and somehow it got deleted. I didn't even know that could be done. I haven't had a chance to congratulate you on your 'Magic Mountain' spotlight, well deserved.

Hi Ellie, I really enjoyed meeting you too on the Alaska trip. We had a wonderful time! I'm going to upload a few images soon. Is there going to be a spot where the participants can all see each other's work? Hope to see you again, Maybe in Costa Rica some time!

Thanks Ellie for the comment. I sincerely appreciate it. When I saw the clouds, I knew I had to capture them somehow but we were on the highway with no place to pull over, so I decided to chance the shot from the car. I am happy that I did as you can see the results of my effort.

My remarks come from the emotion inspired by your deserving work. I had a friend that died and I never expressed my feelings about our friendship and the value of it. I therefore do not remain silent when I see something of beauty and value. I do not make my comments to seek replies but to never be caught short again.

Hi Ellie, I was wondering if you know what the difference colors mean that show up on the rating tags next to each photo? I could have a 8 in blue on one picture and an 8 in red next to another, Any clue?

Ellie Stone

Ellie Stone’s experience with photography goes back 20+ years. Her photographic interests are quite broad; from landscape to macro, weddings to photojournalism, portraits to night photography, and even the fast action trickery of sporting events. Years ago, Ellie combined one of her passions with another and plunged head first into starting a business photographing athletes at running races and triathlons. Her work proved remarkable, and she quickly received notoriety by being published in magazines and newspapers.

As a teacher, Ellie’s passion, enthusiasm, and affection for capturing the beauty of the world through photography is infectious. Teaching is one of her tremendous strengths as she has an uncanny skill of listening and understanding her student’s unique ways of learning. By doing so, she caters to each student’s learning style so her students maximize their photographic learning potential.

Besides Ms. Stone’s obvious passion for photography, her diversity and interests are infinite! She is a triathlete, accomplished equestrian, chef, business woman and gifted runner. Ellie recently competed in the Boston Marathon, the most competitive marathon in the world, and re-qualified for 2012. She resides in the “frog-jumping” capital of the world, Calaveras County, where she volunteers for the Calaveras Humane Society and seizes each moment to practice photography.
