Thanks for your visit and comments, John. I've been out of the loop lately between the frenzy of getting work done before I left on my "break" and having terrible Internet access during our travels.

Well - it seems I can't send you a regular message for whatever reason - so I'll place it here; Yeah - it was freezing - so peaceful though. Changing subjects for the time being - just in the middle of Robin Meade's "Morning Sunshine" - she talks about her gig in the windy town. Yeah, I know the book it 3 yrs old - but I got it on clearance at Wally World. Good read though.

You mentioned before your work is at home and I had a feeling that you may take pictures aplenty. I have a lake at the back of my home and must admit it's difficult to concentrate in my work. The camera is closer to my hand than my pen is. As for comments, not much rather compliments. I follow your work and became a fan of it. The last comment made is because I loved the shot, unlike the tests made with the new toy that were missing pizazz. Thank you for your comments. Always a pleasure!

I must say that Canera is just amazing. This is will have to retire my Medium format box camera and get one of them... The cropped version is the selling image John. We have the remember that the D800 is in the hands of a very Talented Photographer.

But, John....isn't a matter of what you are praying for...or is that being "irreverent"...and can you not seek "deliverance" there? :)

Hi John, same here, my home is my office in Florida with a back lake and occasional visits of Everglades wildlife, including a large gator. Quite a different view. :)) Lorenzo

Amazingly, John...NO DEATHS reported. It came in at 170 mph and demolished 40 apartments. It is a loss of property...and not life....all are grateful on this "Passion" weekend.
 Tom Shacochis said:April 7th, 2012 (5:18am) PDT
John, the crash literally came "out of the blue". Reports said "catastrophic" malfunction. We have those occasionally with 3 air bases around here. They usually go down in a neighborhood. In this case, an apartment complex. It's the price of "freedom". We kind of accept the risk.

 Michael del Pilar said:April 4th, 2012 (11:18am) PDT
Thanks, John, for stopping by to comment on that 'Misa' shot....just trying to think outside the box. Shot the subject as she was leaving the library through the revolving door. You were right in that tripods are essential for cityscapes, landscapes, macro & night shots. I think I'm just lazy...should start using mine more.

BTW, John, all those amazing shots you took on your Hawaii vacay, not one, in my humble opinion, suffered an iota for lack of a tripod. They are essential for certain scenarios, but generally, I feel they're a bit overrated. (Cartier Bresson never used one) In this case, I have to believe that someone with your considerable talents & skills possesses the deft & steady hands that rise to the challenge of any occasion. Anyway, that's my 2cents, & I'm sticking to it !

I had the same problems re: clothing reflections in the helicopters. I really tried to convince my wife to do a 'doors off' tour, but I couldn't get her to do it. Oh well, the experience was great, even if the shots won't be.

I live and work out of my home in downtown Chicago. My day job is with a technology company and photography is my hobby. I enjoy most travel, the arts and scuba diving.

Some of my work has been published and I have been featured on CBS in Chicago.

I am a self taught photographer. Because I live in a high-rise with incredible views of downtown and Lake Michigan I am very fortunate to get lots of practice in a comfortable setting. Many of my shots are right from my windows.
