Thanks, Sas. I was very touched by this guy. He sat there for a long time, barely moving. Before I left the cemetery, he was prone with his head on the grave marker. It was a very emotional morning for the thousands of us at the Memorial Day events. I could have taken dozens of shots of families, couples, kids, huddled together at grave markers.

Saw your comment on one of Stens shots, "contre jour" is a photographic term for against the sun, it translates from the French as "against daylight" and is used to describe any photograph taken against the light source, normally the sun. Hope that is useful, my one little bit of knowledge gone now, drat ! !

I did and found that I liked it, but it took me a long time to to get over that initial nervousness. This despite the fact that I soon found it addictive I have taken 1000's of photos and can count the ti

Hi Sas, Just finding my way round, I like what I see so far, looks like a lot of 500px people are finding their way here, I hope they leave it as it is and not tinker with the site and ruin it like some others we could mention !! Look forward to more of your photgraphs.

Thanks for the response to my 6 image. If it grabs the attention of the admin on this site, it will be a success then.

@sasastro

My preferred genre is street photography. I don't believe it has to be black and white every time because that can miss the vibrancy of our streets. Nor do I believe street photography is only for city people. That decisive (and often fun) moment can as easily be found on a beach, in the country or in a small town as it can in a city.

I've recently also got interested in nature snapping - it's a learning process.

Other than that I'm just random
