my favourite little bird, and to see it preening... brilliant!
I need to get back to Costa Rica to see them again!
wonderful image Pamela
@pamelabole replied: Hi Lillian! I am fortunate to have these little guys right outside in my backyard! : ) They aren't quite as colorful as their relatives in Costa Rica...but they are still so much fun to watch and try to photograph! Thanks for your kind comment....so appreciated!!

lovely bird, great photo
@pamelabole replied: Hi again Paul! Hummingbirds are fascinating to watch, and are very challenging to photograph....because they seldom sit still and they fly so fast!!! : ) I hope you will be able to see Hummingbirds for yourself one of these days soon, perhaps on a vacation!? : ) I would love to see some of your desert shots....that is something I have never seen in person.
@PaulKinnock replied: wish there were humming birds , here where i am working , but i work out in the desert :(
@pamelabole replied: Thank you Paul!!!...appreciate your comment and support!

Beautiful portrait of this Hummingbird Pamela, very easy to like. I saw and photographed Hummingbirds near Cambria last November and that was a thrill. In Louisville, Hummingbirds are long gone by November! Again, very wonderful image!!
@pamelabole replied: Thank you so much for your kind comment Jim....I really appreciate it! I am also glad to see your work back on 72dpi! I hope you will share some of your hummer shots soon! : )

Pamela - this is a brilliant capture - great clarity and really fine composition. Love the softness of the colors too - seems to really capture that transition from winter to spring somehow

I adore hummingbirds and you have captured a stunning shot, and so different from the usual Pamela
@pamelabole replied: Thank you so much Lillian....I really appreciate your comment!! I too adore hummingbirds! I have good sized group that feed at my feeder and my plants, and nest in my nearby trees.....such a fun bird to watch....and to try to capture in a shot! hahaha!!!!

Simply amazing. Capturing hummingbirds on a photo is one thing but to have this opportunity to capture natural behavior is amazing. Super, crisp image, Pamela.

is this one hummingbird of the family you were watching?? it is a SUPERB crisp capture, Pamela!
@pamelabole replied: Thank you so much Marthe.....and, it could very well be one of the few chicks in the nests we had last spring. I actually think they are just getting use to seeing the "big red headed" bird they see filling their feeder! hahaha!!! Thanks again for looking and your always kind comments!!!!

I was amazed that this female hummingbird sat there for about 5 minutes preening, and let me stand right there and photograph her. I guess it was her way of saying thanks for feeding me! : )

Thanks for looking!
