I friend of mine lives in California where they too have been experiencing the drought of ages. Unfortunately, they have not been getting the rains such as we here in Oklahoma have been receiving. She has been bemoaning the heat and parched ground. I feel for her so much.
My recent work has been causing her to dream of cool, clear water, and I so wish that I could send her some of ours. The best that I can do is keep reminding her that this too will change. Their time will come.
Last night, I went down to the local lake with the intent of creating some work near the dam. Much to my surprise, when I made the turn onto the lake road I was met with a hundred yards or more of new water (courtesy of Tropical Storm Bill) blocking the approach to the south. The road was completely submerged. I was amazed to say the least! So I tried the road to the north and found the same. One needed a boat right from the get go!
Rather than call it a night, I pulled over and parked. There were some great clouds forming up and I thought I would make a few images before heading home. I was there until dark. I made multiple compositions from one spot of the clouds reflecting in the nearly calm lake waters. It was truly amazing!
So anyway, this one is for you Lacey. Wish that you could be here to experience this for yourself my dear friend :)
