Hi Brian. I am switching to M mode. Great video Or YouTube Steve Perry Manual Mode with auto ISO. I had a terrible time last year with the Grizzlies... ISO constantly high... on Aperture Mode. I have been playing around with it. See you over a mountain in May !!!

Such beautiful birds and regardless of the setting there is still so much detail.

nice..Brain since you hike with your camera why is it we don't get some landscape pics from you..
@Brian replied: Good point. Many times I am moving through the woods, no trail to speak of, trying to reach a small cove, stream or whatever. Not much to see, just a lot of trees. The camera is all stashed away in a backpack for protection. A long time ago I learned a hard lesson about exposed gear...if you go boom, the camera will also go boom. So now everything is well protected. However, I do landscape shots when I can. So just for you I am sending along a hillside shot showing evidence of an advancing season. Thanks.

Pair of mergansers gliding by my position...north end of Mitkof Island, Petersburg, Alaska.

This shot was taken in deep shadows. I often hike considerable distances to my "spots". Usually I preset the camera well before taking a position. I did not do it this time....took a position behind a log close to the high tide mark and immediately found myself in heavy action....mergansers, gulls, various other ducks, seals, etc. About two hundred exposures later I finally took a close look and found that I was at 3200 ISO. Should have held the ISO at 2000 or lower. Great fun anyway.
