@beenthere101 Thank you for the visit and comments, Merry. A way back when, as a child, my family lived only about and hour or so away from the falls. While I know we visited the Falls a couple times a year, pictures to prove it, I do not ever remember going under the falls. Its on a list.
@beenthere101 replied: I hope you can still do it. - the sound of the water and seeing the back of the falls was really interesting.

Nice Composition! I remember going to Niagara Falls when I was a kid. I, Like Jenny did the tour under the falls. It was kind of scary to see all that water rushing before my eyes and being so close. I can still remember my Dad picking me up and leaning me out to touch the falls.

@Jennybear @pamelabole Thank you ladies. This was a true spring day at the Falls, temperatures around 52F/11C.

Ahhhhhh.....this is such a beautiful shot!!! I love the falls, and then you add the mist and rainbow.....perfect touch! I haven't been to the falls since I was a kid.....I think it is time to revisit when I am back on the East Coast! : )

Hi Ken: I remember as an eight or nine year old visiting the Falls and we were given raincoats and went underneath the falls. It was really amazing to be behind the fall. I wonder if they still give that tour. Even as a youngster, I felt it was dangerous.... As for your shot. Love the mist to start with .. well add a rainbow... what more could you ask for.

@ROBDIETZ Thank you Rob. The day following this shot, my wife and I watched two boats going through what we believed was training runs to the falls. A few times it appeared like a territory standoff.

Just read that they are starting the boats rides early this year.

Shot taken in Niagara Falls, Ont., Canada. The view is of a portion of the Horseshoe Falls. In the back ground is a view of the Niagara Falls, NY. State Park. The border is that close.

The Rainbow effect suddenly appeared a few minutes earlier and to an area not shown. The rainbow effect was created from the mist rising from the falls and the sun being at the exact spot to create the impression.

Interestingly, as you walked the promenade above the river, the rainbow seemed to follow.
