During late September 2016, I was in the Maroon Bells area just north of Aspen, Colorado (USA) for a few days with the main purpose of photographing the Milky Way in a number of areas.
After I had completed shooting the Milky Way over Maroon Bells by the lake on the second night, I headed out to camp just northeast of Mt. Sopris.
On the third night, I drove along this road scouting out different sites to shoot the Milky Way with Mt. Sopris as the moon was rising over the eastern horizon behind me. Here's one of my captures.
