PEGGY'S COVE, NOVA SCOTIA CANADA
Once a tiny fishing port now a world famous tourist attraction.
Peggy's dates back to about the 1760's. The name is mixed with history and folklore. The original name is St. Margaret's Bay: PEGGY is a nickname for Margaret.
Folklore tells of a shipwreck on the rocks and a lone survivor, an orphaned girl who did not know her name.
Her adopting parents named her Peggy. So the story is told.
