A nice batch of Daisies grow in Maple Canyon underneath the old Quince Street Trestle bridge which was built in 1905. One of the few remaining old bridges and fewer reaming wooden bridges in San Diego.
The bridge spans 236 feet from Fourth Avenue to Third 60 feet over Maple Canyon.
I chose to render the picture in a retro form to go with the age of the bridge. I colorized the flowers to bring out the vibrant color they give off and mute out the background with black and white.
The bridge reminds me of the old style boardwalks you see in many beach towns, except that this spans a small canyon instead of a beachfront.
Not too far away, about 2 blocks to the west, is the steel arch 1st Avenue Bridge which was built in 1931.
