Amazing photograph and a memory that will stay with the both of you for a lifetime! What I would have given for a time like that with my dad!

First off, this is a stunning image! Beautifully captured. I know a few desert rats that would hang this in their homes! Second: Kids....what can you say? Loved your narrative. They just have to learn their own way! (usually the HARD way in my experience with boys!)

'm so far behind processing images....so very far. To combat that I've decided to head out to Germany and Italy next week to take more images and put myself REALLY behind....THAT'LL LEARN ME! This is from January in Death Valley. My oldest son and I spent a chilly night in the Pri-ho sleeping off a long drive before setting off in the dark to find something to shoot. Like all good father/son relationships we fought about cameras once we got to the top of the dunes...he wasn't feeling my request that he shoot in manual...WHATEVER...FINE DON'T LEARN...he totally wouldn't use the filters either...or appreciate the fine all manual lens I had loaned him...whatever...kids...it all caught up to him when he almost tumbled because the pants he refused to belt up almost fell around his ankles when he was running down the dune...it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. ever. We had a nice sunrise too...even if he didn't REALLY appreciate it and only wanted doughnuts...
