Magnificent image....that light with the rising fog creates an epic scene with the lone pine, steep sloping rock formation and valley beyond...you've been doing some heavy duty hiking lately, David !

Warm early morning sunlight lifts the cold night's veil of fog high in Aigüestortes y Sant Maurici National Park in the Spanish Pyrenees. I was drawn to the light and the way this dead, withered pine tree stood out against the bright flare lightening up the valley. Dead trees like this one can be constantly found at the higher altitude plateaus throughout Aigüestortes and are a constant reminder of the powerful forces of nature, lightning strikes in this case.
