The Congo African Grey Parrot (Psittacus erithacus erithicus), also known as the Grey Parrot, is a medium-sized parrot found in the primary and secondary rainforest of West and Central Africa.

African Greys kept in captivity are believed to be the most intelligent of all birds and have scientifically demonstrated that they possess the ability to associate simple human words with meanings, and to intelligently apply the abstract concepts of shape, colour, number, zero-sense, etc. Their vocabulary has been documented to exceed 1,000 words and because of their unique vocal abilities, they are able to mimic the voice of their owner and other people they come in contact with.
