Moros y Cristianos / Moors and Christians Elda 2012
The Moors and Christians of Elda, are an important popular holiday of Elda city (Alicante) in Spain. They are celebrated between the last week of May and the first week of June for 5 days of an annual way. Declared of tourist interest, they commemorate the festivity of San Antón, the boss of the holidays.
It has a population of 54.815 inhabitants (2010), filling the 7th vacancy in number of in habitants between the cities of the province of Alicante and his municipal term occupies an area of 44,86 square kilometers.
Located on the banks of the river Vinalopó, it is the capital and the most important city of the region of the Way Vinalopó and form, with Petrel, a conurbation of 89.691 inhabitants.
It is provided with an important industry of footwear, in particular that of lady, who represents the principal economic activity of the population.
