On this very rare day, my son and I were fortunate enough to come within 10 feet of this long eared owl.

Though I had been visiting the group daily, this lone owl, an owl I believe to have roosted in the same area last year, was extremely tolerant. No signs of agitation or stress, he actually fell asleep in front of us.

It was a beautiful day...
