Lovely shot Jenny. He looks so cute. Really like the way you have framed the shot with his habitat.

that is outstanding..recently i watched a video about a fox hunting mice. it was amazing.
@Jennybear replied: Hi Nair.. that is exactly what this fellow was doing. Most of the time his nose had quite a bit of snow on it !!! Thanks Nair.

Another great composition! I was out again this weekend looking for foxes, but no luck. I did photograph a large coyote, but he was over 200m away.
@Jennybear replied: Thank you so much Bruce. I too have looked for foxes where I live... but they are too fast for me. If you can handle damp cold... go to Churchill !! Thanks so much.

A magnificent animal in this image, Jenny. Such beautiful fur and stockings. On Thursday, past, I spoke with a lady living in Bracebridge area who has a son that works at the location you just returned from. Small, small world we live in.
@Jennybear replied: Small world for sure... Seal River Lodge??? I wonder if his name is Andy... Thanks so much Ken.

@Jennybear replied: Hi Michele. I truly like the way you think... lovely comment. Yes, it was wicked cold. It was also very windy. We were in the shelter of the grain elevators. Thanks so much.

Thanks Jenny! Love the foxes - excellent to be able to capture this at 130mm - great going - jealous!
@Jennybear replied: Mike, my photo guru who plans these trips I go on has been to Churchill many, many times. He took us to a spot where he hoped we would find one. We got lucky and this fellow was most accommodating. Thanks Mike.

They are very beautiful animals. You must be some sort of animal whisperer...this is shot at only 130mm. I have a hard time getting within 130m of most animals. Nice capture, Jenny.
@Jennybear replied: Hi Kent. Yes, we were able to get quite close to this fellow. He was so beautiful in the white snow drifts. I do feel a connection to wild animals... perhaps foolishly at times... especially with bears. Thanks so much Kent for this great comment.

He is a real beauty, especially with his thick prime fur. He looks so warm in that cold environment. Another fine capture, Jenny.
@Jennybear replied: Hi Laura... He is pretty isn't he. I tell you, I fell in love with the foxes on this trip... the little arctic fox was a hoot. Thanks for your never ending support and comments.... We must take another trip together....

Churchill, Manitoba.

We spent one night and one full day in Churchill. We rented a four wheel drive and toured the outskirts of town. Cold... it is just at the edge of the tree line along Hudson Bay, so the was nothing to break the wind. So below zero !!! That is not snow on the bushes, but hoar frost. This fellow had his nose in the snow looking for mice. I think the red fox is a most beautiful animal with his black stockings !
