I find myself to be always searching more night skies and darker parts of this planet, which is a hard thing to find any more. Shooting the milky way at this very location has been in my agenda for a few years now but every time i planned something life came in my way and those plans never got fulfilled until the last few weeks..Although this night was fairly cloudy, patience helped and as time passed by, the skies slowly cleared up but those dark clouds help add some drama.. Standing at the edge of this 1900+ feet deep lake, you feel like you are at one edge of the universe. A million stars and almost zero light pollution and if you are lucky you might even catch some aurora in winter..This lake is surrounded by white bark pine trees that are slowly becoming extinct due to beetle infestation. This tree on the left is so old that its almost about to fall off into the crater at some point. I am glad to have spent a few nights at this location before it completely dies to the power of nature..
