I have tried to capture lightning a few times before, with only limited success. On this night, my wife and I were tenting along the Red Deer River on a recent kayak trip. When the sky started to flash a bit, my wife said that she was going into the tent before it started to pour. I told her that I was going to stay up for a while and try and get a shot of lightning. She stated back to me that she thought that was a pretty dumb idea to stand out in the river, next to a tri-pod, during a lightning storm. I said that it was probably no worse than laying in a fabric structure that was being held up by three aluminum poles...apparently that was not the response that she was hoping to hear. :)

I will be on vacation for a couple of weeks, and I am not sure if there will be any have a great summer.
