ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By using 72dpi.com, you agree to these terms and conditions. 72dpi.com reserves the right to update and change these terms and policies to improve the quality and experience of our community members and site visitors. Updates will automatically supersede any and all previous versions of these terms and policies.

By using 72dpi.com, you acknowledge these terms and conditions. You also agree that any comments on forums are the property of 72dpi.com and can be used, edited, deleted or shared online at our discretion. All other member information, whether photographic or text, remains the property of the account/rightful copyright owner.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

72dpi.com is a community photo sharing and social networking website that features photo galleries, comment forums, viewer and member ratings of photos and other photography-related materials and profiles. This is a social community, and respect and consideration are expected among members and visitors. All users, whether visiting the website, or registered users, are expected to adhere to the Community Terms and Usage Guidelines. Any or all violations will mean revocation of member privileges. By viewing any page on the 72dpi.com website, all or any interaction, activity, registration, rating or commenting anywhere on the website, means acceptance of these Terms, Conditions and Policies.

All photographs, images and photo descriptions within a member's gallery and profile belong to their respective copyright owners. 72dpi.com has no ownership or interest in the copyright owned content except for the electronic rights to allow for archiving, holding, displaying said property for the owner, with their consent. We will never share personal information or any photographic or copyright protected material. We reserve the right, which is granted by the copyright owner through use of 72dpi.com, to share links, share images and member galleries for promotional purposes and in social networking and marketing to promote the 72dpi.com community. We will never claim any member's material as that owned by 72dpi.com.

All content that makes up the 72dpi.com website, original images, graphics, photographs, text and other web content developed and owned by 72dpi.com are also protected by copyright, and we reserve the right to restrict or allow use of our copyrighted material for promotions if a written request is received by a member explaining how our material will be used (some content restrictions may apply on a case by case basis).

COMMUNITY TERMS AND USAGE GUIDELINES

72dpi.com accounts are intended for members to share original photos, images and descriptions that they themselves have created. Your use of 72dpi.com is subject to these Usage Guidelines and our Terms of Service.

72dpi.com is a global community, therefore there will be many different perspectives, opinions, tastes and preferences. This community is built so that all varieties of people with an interest in taking or viewing photography can interact, learn from each and experience thoughtful and helpful critiques, praise or feedback of each other's images. To be a part of this community, we require politeness, respect for others and consideration toward all our members.

WHAT IS ALLOWED:

  • Uploading of content that you have created. We are strict in our policy to respect the copyrights of others. This includes not downloading ("stealing") photos, images and/or stories/descriptions of others, whether members or anyone else, and present them as your own. If you love something, make it a Favorite (Fav) within your account to view it as often as you wish, and this allows the rightful owner to retain his/her rights to their work.

  •Moderate your content. All content must be considered safe and legal. No images of pornography, illegal, unsafe, or that which promotes hate mongering will be tolerated. We urge you to moderate your own content so we do not have to override and do it for you.

  •Sharing links from 72dpi.com, of your own pages or of those you appreciate. We encourage social networking, and have included several tools within the profiles to make it easy. We will keep looking for more ways to share your great work. However, remember, with any outside sharing, credit and a working link back MUST be included.

  •Have a good time, interact with other members, rate all the photos you can, and leave constructive, flattering and supportive comments. Make 72dpi.com a fun place to share!

WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED (which means, if you do any of this, you may receive a warning, but then you may find your account gone without further explanation or warning - we will always watch out for our members and work to provide a safe, fun environment for all):

  •Uploading ANYTHING that is NOT YOURS. This includes images, text, videos, audio or any materials that do not belong to you, that are not your original work.

  •Showing nudity in your profile photo.

  •Uploading any content that is illegal, prohibited or dangerous. If you do, we will delete your account and take appropriate action, which could include reporting you to the authorities.

  •Ranting, venting your frustrations, or being cruel to other members. Harassment, abuse, impersonation and/or intimidation of our members WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, you will receive a warning, or if severe, your account will be deleted and you will be banned from 72dpi.com.

  •Using your profile or gallery to host graphics, banners, logos, icons or elements of web design or any non-photographic elements.

  •Using your profile and gallery for a storefront or for commercial activity. You can not sell products, services or yourself, or use your gallery as a product catalog, or link to commercial sites other than those allowed in your profile. You can use your gallery link, and even individual image links to promote your abilities, share your work, but no blatant selling. This is a non-commercial community. There are link fields provided for you in your profile. Please restrict advertising your services or products to that one link area.

MATTER OF TASTE:

We are an international community, and our members have a vast variety of tastes, styles and ideas of beauty and photographic art. Please keep in mind that some members may not share your particular tastes. If you are offended by a photo you should click away from it. However, if you feel it violates any of our terms or guidelines, you may send us an alert or report it by sending the URL of the offending image to info@72dpi.com, and we will give it careful and prompt review.

COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT:

If you believe any of your images are being used on another member's gallery or profile, we advise you to contact them through the member email account and politely ask them to remove it. If you do not get a satisfactory response, contact us with as much information as you can provide and we will pursue the matter from there. Please refrain from commenting publicly on their site. This can escalate a situation to ugly levels. See our Copyright policy below for more information.

WE HAVE DEVELOPED 72DPI.COM FOR FOSTERING POSITIVE ENERGY AND ENCOURAGEMENT AMONG LOVERS OF PHOTOGRAPHY. WE WANT TO PROVIDE A SAFE, ENTHUSIASTIC AND FUN EXPERIENCE, THEREFORE ADHERENCE TO ALL OUR TERMS, POLICIES AND GUIDELINES IS REQUIRED TO BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN AN ACCOUNT. 72DPI.COM RESERVATION OF RIGHTS

72dpi.com expressly reserves the right to immediately modify, delete content from, suspend or terminate any member account and to refuse current or future use of any 72dpi or Aperture Academy property or service, if 72dpi.com, in our sole discretion, believes you have: (i) violated or tried to violate the rights of others; or (ii) acted inconsistently with the spirit or letter of the TOS, the Community Usage Guidelines or any of our Policies. In such event, your account may be suspended or removed immediately at our discretion, all the information and content contained within it deleted permanently. 72dpi.com accepts no liability for information or content that is deleted.

INDEMNITY

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 72dpi.com and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, or other partners, and employees, from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees made by any third party due to or arising out of your use of and access to 72dpi.com, your violation of the TOS, the Community Usage Guidelines, or Policies, your violation of any rights of another person or entity, or your violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

OBJECTIONABLE MATERIAL

You understand that by using 72dpi.com you may encounter content that may be deemed offensive, indecent, or objectionable, which content may or may not be identified as having explicit subject matter. Nevertheless, you agree to use 72dpi.com at your sole risk and that 72dpi.com shall not have any liability to you for content that may be found to be offensive, indecent, or objectionable.

Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy

72dpi.com adamantly respects the intellectual property rights of others, and we expect our community members and website users to do the same. Therefore, it is our policy, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, to disable and/or terminate the accounts of members who may infringe, whether once or repeatedly, on the copyrights and/or intellectual property rights of others or 72dpi.com itself.

Please note: 72DPI.COM HAS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTENT ON OTHER WEBSITES THAT YOU MAY FIND OR ACCESS WHEN USING OUR WEBSITE OR SERVICES. Material available on or through other websites, such as those linked from member profiles, outside services we may provide now or in the future, sponsors, outside contests or promotions, etc., may be protected by copyright and the intellectual property laws of the United States and/or other countries. The terms of use for those websites, and not the 72dpi.com Terms of Use, will govern your use of that material.

Notice for Claims of Intellectual Property Violations:

If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, or that your intellectual property rights have been otherwise violated, please provide the following information in English, through email:

    • an electronic or physical signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright or other intellectual property interest;

    • a description of the copyrighted work or other intellectual property that you claim has been infringed;

    • a description of where the material that you claim is infringing is located on the 72dpi website, (along with a working URL);

    • your address, telephone number and email address;

    • a statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright or intellectual property owner, its agent, or the law;
